KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope – 7ft, Pastel Blue
Pastel blue is the softer of KM Elite's two blues in this rope, a quieter alternative to the royal. The rope itself is their standard cotton double braid: 7ft, 2.13m, round in section, with a brass plated swivel bolt snap at the headcollar end.
A double braided rope has an inner core inside an outer sleeve, which is what gives it weight and a settled feel in the hand rather than the light, whippy handling of a single braid. It hangs straight, which makes it easier to feed out or take up cleanly.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 7ft (2.13m), the standard length for handling and tying up.
- Core-and-sleeve double braid, so the rope has weight and hangs straight.
- Round cotton section that fills the hand comfortably.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and swivelling.
- A muted pastel that is easier to keep looking clean than the very pale shades.
Suitable For
- Everyday leading, bringing in and turning out.
- Tying up for grooming and the farrier.
- Matching a pastel blue KM Elite Padded Headcollar.
- Riders who find a light single-braid rope too whippy in the hand.
- Not long enough for in-hand work at a distance — the KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope 10ft gives 3.05m for that.
How to Use
- Clip the swivel bolt snap to the back ring of the headcollar, under the jaw.
- Lead from the near side, hand about 30cm below the clip, spare rope folded flat in the other hand.
- Wash in warm water with a mild detergent when it marks.
- Hang by the clip so the braid dries right through.
Specification
- Length 7ft (2.13m).
- Round cotton, tight double braided construction, pastel blue.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and swivelling.
- SKU 1001917. Barcode 5060171233787.
- KM Elite list this shade as Pastel Blue/Teal. They publish no rope diameter, weight or breaking strain, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. Cotton grips skin and will burn it if the horse pulls away.
- Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine with a quick-release knot, never directly to a gate, ring or post.
- Do not leave a horse tied unattended, and do not leave the rope clipped on in the field.
