KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope – 10ft, Black

The 10ft version of KM Elite's cotton double braid gives you 3.05m of rope rather than the usual 7ft, and that extra metre changes what the rope is for. It is enough to send a horse away from you a little, to work in hand, or to lead a youngster who needs room to think without you losing contact.

The rope is 100% cotton in a round double braid, built to minimise snagging, and finished with a brass plated swivel bolt snap. Black is one of only two colours KM Elite braid at this length — the other is navy — so the choice here is about practicality rather than fashion.

How to Use

• Clip the swivel bolt snap to the back ring of the headcollar, under the jaw.
• Lead with your hand about 30cm below the clip and the spare rope folded flat in the other hand, never coiled around it.
• Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, then hang the full length up to dry.
• Hang the rope by its clip so the braid dries through and the length does not kink.

Care & Caution

• Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. There is more slack on a 10ft rope, and more slack is more to get caught in.
• Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine with a quick-release knot, never directly to a solid fixed object.
• Do not let the tail of the rope trail on the ground while leading, and do not leave a horse tied unattended.
