KM Elite Poly Lead Rope – Baby Blue, 6ft

KM Elite's poly lead rope is the one they build for strength rather than for softness in the hand: they rate it at ten times the strength of an average cotton rope, and finish it with an extra-large brass snap that is easy to work with cold or gloved fingers.

Baby Blue is the palest blue in a range that runs to more than twenty colours. It shows mud sooner than the darks, but poly does not absorb it the way cotton does, so a wipe over with warm water brings it back rather than leaving a permanent grey cast.

How to Use

• Clip the brass snap to the ring under the jaw of the headcollar, with the spring facing away from the horse.
• Lead from the near side with the slack folded across your palm — never coiled around your hand.
• Tie with a quick-release knot to a loop of breakable baler twine, never straight to a solid ring.
• Wipe with warm water and hang to dry; the poly sheds most mud without washing.

Care & Caution

• Poly this strong does not give way under load. Never tie a horse directly to a solid ring, post or trailer — always tie to a loop of breakable twine so something can part before the horse does.
• Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. A horse that pulls back can burn or trap a hand in a coiled rope in an instant.
• Retire the rope if the core shows through the outer braid, or if the snap spring weakens or sticks.
