KM Elite Poly Lead Rope – Hot Green, 6ft

A 6ft poly lead rope with an extra-large brass snap, built to outlast cotton. KM Elite put the poly at ten times the strength of an average cotton rope, and because it is not palatable, horses that make short work of cotton ropes generally ignore it.

Hot Green is the fluorescent green in the range — a lime rather than a grass green. It is the colour to pick if you want a rope you can see on the ground at dusk, or one no one on a shared yard will pick up by mistake.

How to Use

• Clip the brass snap to the ring under the jaw of the headcollar, with the spring facing away from the horse.
• Lead from the near side with the slack folded across your palm — never coiled around your hand.
• Tie with a quick-release knot to a loop of breakable baler twine, never straight to a solid ring.
• Wipe with warm water and hang to dry; the poly sheds most mud without washing.

Care & Caution

• Poly this strong does not give way under load. Never tie a horse directly to a solid ring, post or trailer — always tie to a loop of breakable twine so something can part before the horse does.
• Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. A horse that pulls back can burn or trap a hand in a coiled rope in an instant.
• Retire the rope if the core shows through the outer braid, or if the snap spring weakens or sticks.
