KM Elite Poly Lead Rope – Hot Orange, 6ft

The poly lead rope is one of KM Elite's longest-running lines, sold in 6ft with an extra-large brass snap. Poly gives it the strength — ten times an average cotton rope, by KM Elite's own reckoning — and the resistance to chewing that cotton simply does not have.

Hot Orange is the brightest colour KM Elite make it in. That has a real use beyond looks: an orange rope hooked over a gate or dropped in long grass is still findable at last light, and it stands out against every coat colour there is.

How to Use

• Clip the brass snap to the ring under the jaw of the headcollar, with the spring facing away from the horse.
• Lead from the near side with the slack folded across your palm — never coiled around your hand.
• Tie with a quick-release knot to a loop of breakable baler twine, never straight to a solid ring.
• Wipe with warm water and hang to dry; the poly sheds most mud without washing.

Care & Caution

• Poly this strong does not give way under load. Never tie a horse directly to a solid ring, post or trailer — always tie to a loop of breakable twine so something can part before the horse does.
• Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. A horse that pulls back can burn or trap a hand in a coiled rope in an instant.
• Retire the rope if the core shows through the outer braid, or if the snap spring weakens or sticks.
