KM Elite Ultimate Oil – 1 Litre

Ultimate Oil is a blend of cold-pressed plant oils — flaxseed, wheatgerm, rice bran, coconut and sea buckthorn berry — put together to give a horse Omega 3, 6, 9 and the rarer Omega 7 in what KM Elite describe as a balanced 2.5:1 ratio. It contains no fish oil, which is the practical difference between this and most equine omega supplements, and it matters to anyone feeding a horse that turns its nose up at a fishy smell.

The sea buckthorn is there for Omega 7, which supports mucous membranes, and the flaxseed supplies alpha-linolenic acid, the Omega 3 a horse can actually use. KM Elite add natural vitamin E at 2,500mg/kg and rosemary oil at 500mg/kg, the rosemary doubling as the natural preservative that keeps a cold-pressed oil from going off.

Feeding

• Introduce gradually over five to seven days rather than starting at the full rate.
• Ponies and light horses: 30-60ml per day.
• Medium and heavy horses: 60-100ml per day.
• Adjust within those ranges for bodyweight and workload.
• Feed daily, mixed into a balanced ration.
