KONG AirDog Squeaker Bone – Medium
The Medium Squeaker Bone is the size most spaniels, terriers and mid-sized crossbreeds actually want. A Large bone in a 12kg dog's mouth is awkward to carry and awkward to pick up off the grass; this one sits across the jaw without propping it open.
Mechanically it is the same toy as its bigger brother — KONG's non-abrasive tennis material over a squeaker, which the company describes as combining the tennis ball and the squeaker into one fetch toy. KONG's own site currently lists the Large; this Medium carries barcode 035585775296, the sibling code to the Large's 035585775302.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Sized for dogs that find a Large bone too wide to carry comfortably.
- KONG tennis material rather than tennis-ball felt, so it does not abrade teeth over repeated fetches.
- Squeaker inside brings a distracted dog back to the game.
- Light enough to throw one-handed for a full hour without tiring your shoulder.
- Easy to spot on grass, which saves the end of every walk being a search.
Suitable For
- Medium dogs, roughly 5–35 lb (about 2–16kg) on KONG's own weight guidance.
- Spaniels, terriers and similar dogs that fetch all day given the chance.
- Households that want the same toy in two sizes for two dogs — size both to the larger dog.
- Too small for a big retriever or shepherd; the Large AirDog Squeaker Bone is the one for those.
How to Use
- Throw low and flat across grass so it skips rather than plugs into soft ground.
- Squeak once to start, then let the retrieve itself be the reward.
- Take it in after play; left out in rain the tennis covering goes heavy and stays damp.
- Wash in warm water with dish soap, scrub the seams, rinse and dry before storing.
Specification
- Size Medium. Barcode 035585775296.
- KONG tennis material body with an internal squeaker.
- KONG's own site currently lists the Large of this shape; no separate specification is published for the Medium.
- No dimensions or weight are published by KONG for either size, so none are stated here.
Care & Caution
- Retire the toy as soon as the covering tears — the squeaker inside is exactly the size that causes a blockage.
- KONG are explicit that no safe dog toy is indestructible. Keep this for supervised fetch, not for all-day chewing.
- In a multi-dog house, size every toy to the biggest dog as a safety margin.
