KONG Extreme – Medium, Black
At 5.7 × 5.7 × 8.9cm and 118g, the Medium Extreme is built for dogs KONG put in the 15–35 lb band — roughly 7–16kg, so spaniels, terriers, French bulldogs and the smaller crossbreeds. The black rubber is the same formula used right through the Extreme line; only the dimensions change.
A medium-sized dog with a serious jaw is exactly the case the Extreme grade exists for. If a red Classic in this size has come back chewed at the openings, this is the direct replacement, and it stuffs and freezes in precisely the same way.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Extreme black rubber, the hardest of KONG's four grades.
- 5.7 × 5.7 × 8.9cm — a chamber sized for a medium dog's meal, not a large dog's.
- Unpredictable bounce on hard ground for fetch that never repeats.
- Hollow through the middle for kibble, paste and frozen fillings.
- Weighs 118g, light enough to throw properly.
- 100% natural rubber, made in the USA.
Suitable For
- Dogs in KONG's Medium band, about 15–35 lb or 7–16kg.
- Medium dogs that chew hard enough to damage a Classic.
- Slow feeding, crate training and time alone.
- Kennels and rescue, where the same toy has to survive many different dogs.
- Too small for a dog of 30kg and over — go to the Large or X-Large Extreme, because an undersized KONG can be swallowed whole.
How to Use
- Load kibble through the wide opening and seal it with a smear of paste.
- Freeze a stuffed toy for four hours or more for the longest session.
- Make it easy to empty at first so the dog learns the toy pays out.
- Wash in hot soapy water or the dishwasher's top rack; dry before refilling.
- Let the dog chase the rebound rather than throwing it directly at them.

Care & Caution
- KONG's own instruction: supervised use only, remove all packaging and packaging attachments, and discontinue use if damaged.

- Inspect the rubber at every fill and replace the toy if it splits or is bitten through.
