Play Spaces are KONG's collapsible cat hideaways: a sprung wire frame in a fabric skin that pops open into a box with peek-through openings, and folds flat again when you want the floor back. The gingerbread house is the Christmas version of the format.

The reason they work is that cats want an enclosed space with more than one way out, and a hideaway that also has holes to strike through turns sitting still into hunting. There is a dangling toy inside and KONG's catnip in the fabric.

How to Use

• Remove the elastic band and let it open, then push the remaining panels out.
• Put it where the cat already chooses to sit, not where you would like them to.

• Fold it flat and store it in a bag to keep the catnip scent in.
• Spot clean the fabric and let it dry fully before folding it away.

Care & Caution

• KONG's own instruction for pop-up Play Spaces: when you remove the elastic band the structure opens suddenly. Do it away from your face and away from anything breakable.
• There is a sprung metal frame inside the fabric. Stop using it if the frame works through the skin, as an exposed wire end can cut.
• The dangling toy is on a cord. Check it regularly and remove it if it frays, since cords are a strangulation and swallowing risk.
