KONG Knots Dragon – Medium/Large
The Knots Dragon is a plush character built round KONG's full-body rope skeleton — rope through the neck, body and limbs, plush over the top, and a squeaker in the head. The wings and tail give a dog something to grab that is not the same thickness as the body, which is what keeps a Knots toy interesting longer than a plain plush.
This is the Medium/Large. KONG no longer list the Dragon in their current range, so the figures below are the ones KONG publish for the Knots line rather than for this character specifically; where they publish nothing, nothing is claimed.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Internal full-body rope skeleton for weight and durability, in KONG's own description of the Knots range.
- Squeaker sited in the head to draw a dog back to the toy.
- Long floppy limbs suit swinging, thrashing and carrying.
- Soft dual-plush cover, so it works as a settle-down toy as well.
- Adapts to several play styles — tug, shake, carry and gnaw.
Suitable For
- Medium and larger dogs that shake and carry rather than dismantle.
- Dogs that find a stuffed plush too light to bother with.
- Two-player tug using a wing or the tail.
- Dogs that like a soft toy in the bed at night.
- Not a chew for a power chewer — a rubber toy such as the KONG Extreme in black is the right answer for those.
How to Use
- Offer it by a limb; most dogs find the rope within a minute or two.
- Keep tug low and steady rather than lifting the dog.
- Sponge clean and dry fully — the rope core holds damp.
- Rotate it with other toys rather than leaving it out permanently.
Specification
- Size Medium/Large.
- Plush cover over an internal rope skeleton, with a squeaker.
- KONG's published Knots line features: internal rope skeleton, squeaker in the head, soft dual-plush material, long floppy limbs.
- KONG no longer list a Knots Dragon and publish no size band, dimensions or fabric composition for it, so none are stated here.
Care & Caution
- Plush over rope: when the cover opens, the rope and the squeaker are both swallowable.
- Retire the toy at the first tear rather than repairing it.
- Supervise play and take it up when you go out.
- Match the toy to the dog — a Medium/Large plush is not a safe mouthful for a giant breed.
