KONG Scrunch Knots Fox – Medium/Large
Scrunch Knots have no stuffing at all. The plush is gathered around a coiled rope that runs the length of the toy, so the body concertinas and scrunches when a dog bites it, and the stretchy side panels let it spring back. The noise and the give are what keep a dog working at it.
This is the fox, in Medium/Large — KONG's band for that size across the Scrunch Knots range is dogs of 30 to 65 lb, roughly 14 to 29kg. It squeaks, and because there is no filling there is nothing to pull out and spread across the floor.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Completely stuffing-free, so a tear does not turn into a mess.
- Internal coiled rope gives the body weight and a satisfying crunch.
- Stretchy side panels create the flopping, lifelike movement KONG designed it for.
- Squeaker built in for added interest.
- Long flat shape suits shaking, dragging and tug.
Suitable For
- Dogs of 30–65 lb (about 14–29kg) on KONG's Scrunch Knots banding.
- Dogs with a strong prey drive that like something long to thrash.
- Owners tired of picking stuffing out of the carpet.
- Tug played by an owner holding the tail end.
- Too long and heavy for a small terrier — the Small/Medium Scrunch Knots, sized to 35 lb, is the one there.
How to Use
- Offer it by the tail and let the dog take the body.
- Play tug end to end rather than side to side.
- Sponge clean and hang to dry; the rope core stays wet if it is bundled away damp.
- Rotate it with a rubber toy so the novelty holds.
Specification
- Size Medium/Large.
- KONG's own band for this size in the Scrunch Knots range is 30–65 lb (about 14–29kg).
- Stuffing-free plush over an internal coiled rope, with stretchy sides and a squeaker.
- KONG UPC 035585454429.
- KONG no longer list the fox character. For the Medium/Large Scrunch Knots they publish 4.5 × 14.25 × 3.25in and a make-up of 70% polyester, 25% cotton and 5% plastic squeaker, which is the construction used here.
Care & Caution
- Stuffing-free does not mean chew-proof — the rope core is inside a fabric cover.
- Retire the toy once the cover is opened; rope and squeaker can both be swallowed.
- Supervise play and take it up afterwards.
- Match the size to the dog rather than the character to the dog.
