KONG Scrunch Knots Squirrel – Medium/Large
Of the three Scrunch Knots characters we stock, the squirrel is the one with the broad bushy tail, which changes how it handles — it gives a dog a wider, softer end to grab and gives you something substantial to hold during tug. The body is the same flat, gathered plush over a coiled rope with no stuffing inside.
KONG make the Scrunch Knots in two sizes and this is the larger: Medium/Large, which they band at 30 to 65 lb, about 14 to 29kg. The stretchy sides let the toy bunch and recover under the teeth, and there is a squeaker in the body.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Stuffing-free construction — no filling to pull out.
- Coiled rope through the body provides weight and a crunch under the teeth.
- Broad tail gives a wider grip than the fox or raccoon.
- Stretchy side panels for realistic flopping movement.
- Squeaker included to keep the toy in play.
Suitable For
- Dogs of 30–65 lb (about 14–29kg) on KONG's own banding.
- Dogs that take hold of a toy by the tail rather than the head.
- Owners who want an interactive tug toy that does not shed stuffing.
- Terriers and gundogs with a strong shake reflex.
- Not for a small dog that cannot lift the full length — KONG's Small/Medium size covers dogs to 35 lb.
How to Use
- Hold the tail for tug; it is the widest and strongest part of the toy.
- Drag it along the ground to trigger a chase before you hand it over.
- Sponge clean, then hang to dry rather than bundling it away damp.
- Alternate it with a chew toy so it stays a novelty.
Specification
- Size Medium/Large, the larger of KONG's two Scrunch Knots sizes.
- KONG band: 30–65 lb (about 14–29kg). The Small/Medium covers dogs up to 35 lb.
- Stuffing-free plush over a coiled rope, with stretchy sides and a squeaker.
- KONG UPC 035585454436.
- KONG give the Medium/Large squirrel as 4.5 × 14.25 × 3.25in and 0.4 lb, in 70% polyester, 25% cotton and 5% plastic squeaker.
Care & Caution
- Fabric over rope: once the cover splits, the rope and squeaker are swallowable.
- Withdraw the toy at the first tear.
- Supervise play rather than leaving it down all day.
- Give a larger dog a larger toy — size is the safety control here.
