Leovet 5-Star Detangler – Mane, Tail & Coat Spray, 550ml

The 5-Star Detangler is the spray leovet build the rest of the 5-Star range around. Sprayed into a dry mane or tail it lets a comb drop through knots that would otherwise have to be picked apart by hand, and on the body it puts a slick, dust-shedding finish on the coat that lasts for days rather than hours.

leovet name three plant-derived ingredients in it: arginine, which they call the essential hair nutrient for better hair growth; Pentavitin from wheat, which they say stops itching and dry skin and is highly moisturising; and provitamin B5, or panthenol, for nourished hair with volume. At 550ml the bottle is generous, which it needs to be if you are doing a full tail as well as a neck.

Performance & Benefits
  • Combs tangles out of manes and tails quickly, with far less hair pulled out in the process.
  • Arginine, Pentavitin from wheat, and provitamin B5 (panthenol) are the three ingredients leovet name.
  • Repels dust and dirt, which leovet say lasts for many days after application.
  • Speeds up grooming on a horse that lives out and comes in mud-caked.
  • leovet report that 90% of their testers named it their favourite detangler; that is leovet's own test claim, not an independent one.
<>
Suitable For
  • Thick, long or easily knotted manes and tails.
  • Everyday grooming and competition turnout alike.
  • Horses whose coats attract dust between washes.
  • Avoid the saddle patch and the girth area before you ride — it is designed to make hair slippery.
<>
How to Use
  • Spray onto a dry mane or tail from a few inches away, section by section.
  • Leave it a moment to work in, then comb through from the bottom of the tail upwards.
  • For coat shine, mist lightly over the body and finish with a soft brush or cloth.
  • Keep it off the saddle and girth area, and off the reins if you spray the neck.
  • leovet publish no dosage or step-by-step directions on their website; the method above is normal practice for a detangling spray.

Care & Caution
  • Do not spray towards the face. Cover the eyes with a hand and spray onto a cloth to work around the head.
  • If any gets into an eye, rinse at once with plenty of clean water.
  • Treated hair is slippery. Keep it off the saddle area, girth line and reins, and off your own hands before you pick up a rein.
  • Patch test on a small area first if your horse has reacted to a grooming spray before.
