Leovet FrogMedic Spray – 200ml

FrogMedic is Leovet's concentrated frog treatment, made for the acute end of thrush rather than for routine upkeep. Leovet describe it as penetrating deeply, spreading into the grooves and into small fissures, and so reaching the decayed spots that a brush-on product tends to bridge over.

Three plant ingredients do the work. Turpentine oil from pine and larch dries and hardens; pine heartwood extract, rich in essential oils, vitamins and trace elements, provides the deep cleansing; and tea tree oil nourishes skin and horn with soothing, regenerating properties. Leovet's stated effect is that it blocks out damp, stops the deterioration and dries the frog so healthy horn can grow back.

How to Use

• Pick the foot out thoroughly and brush the frog clean and dry first.
• Spray into the central and collateral grooves and over the whole frog.
• Repeat daily while the frog is soft or foul-smelling, then ease off as it firms up.
• Stand the horse on a clean, dry surface for a few minutes afterwards.
• Keep the nozzle clean so it does not clog between uses.

Care & Caution

• Do not spray into a wound or onto raw, bleeding tissue.
• Turpentine and tea tree oils are strong — wear gloves if your skin reacts to essential oils.

• Thrush that has reached sensitive tissue, or a horse that is lame or has a discharging foot, needs a vet or a farrier rather than a spray.
