Leovet Shiny White Stain Eraser Shampoo – Horses & Ponies, 500 ml
Leovet Stain Eraser Shampoo – for White & Light Coats, 500ml
Anyone who keeps a grey knows the particular misery of a horse that comes in from the field with a yellow hip and a green shoulder. leovet's Stain Eraser Shampoo is aimed squarely at that: they say it removes even stubborn stains such as urine, manure and grass, and creates a radiant white hue.
The interesting part is what happens after the wash. leovet state that with regular use, the complex natural proteins from the moringa tree prevent new dirt particles and discolouration from accumulating for up to two days — so the horse you washed on Friday should still be presentable on Sunday morning. Moringa seed extract is also described by leovet as cleansing gently and thoroughly with a long-lasting, intensively lipid-replenishing effect, which is what keeps a stain shampoo from leaving the coat stripped and dull.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Lifts urine, manure and grass stains, which leovet name specifically.
- Moringa proteins are stated by leovet to hold new dirt and discolouration off the coat for up to two days with regular use.
- Intensively lipid-replenishing, so the coat is not left stripped after a stain wash.
- Naturally moisturises the hair and enhances shine, according to leovet.
- 500ml, the practical size for a grey that needs doing repeatedly through a show season.
Suitable For
- Greys, whites, palominos, cremellos and any light or part-coloured coat.
- White markings, socks and blazes on a darker horse.
- Manes and tails that go yellow at the roots.
- Show preparation, and the night before a class in particular.
- For everyday washing on a dark horse this is the wrong shampoo — Leovet 5-Star Body Wash Biotin is the general-purpose one.
How to Use
- Wet the coat thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water.
- Work the shampoo into the stained areas and leave it a short while before rinsing, rather than washing it straight off.
- Rinse until the water runs clear.
- Scrape and dry properly; a damp grey picks up new stains fastest.
- leovet publish no contact time or dilution rate on their website, so none is stated here.
Specification
- 500ml bottle. leovet publish no pack size on their own product page.
- Named active: natural complex proteins from moringa seeds.
- The store listing has previously described lipid regulators and anti-static agents in this shampoo; leovet name only the moringa proteins, so no other ingredient is claimed here.
- leovet publish no full ingredient list or concentrations, so none is stated here.
- Made by leovet Dr. Jacoby GmbH & Co. KG, Lahnau, Germany. Sold in Germany as Schimmel-Shampoo.
Care & Caution
- Keep out of the eyes. If shampoo gets into an eye, rinse at once with plenty of clean water.
- Do not use it on broken or sore skin — a stain shampoo is for a healthy coat.
- Patch test on a small area first if your horse has reacted to a wash product before.
- Rinse it out fully. Shampoo left in a thick tail dulls the very shine you are after and can irritate the dock.
