Marriage's Quail Layers Micro Pellets – 20kg

A layers ration built specifically for quail, and the pellet size is the whole reason it exists. Standard poultry pellets run to about 3mm; these are 2mm micro pellets, which a quail can pick up and swallow properly instead of shattering and wasting.

Quail lay hard for their size and need a good deal more protein than a hen to do it. Marriage's publish 20% protein for this feed, against 17% in their Farmyard Layers Pellets — which is exactly why a laying quail should not simply be put on hen feed. The 20kg bag suits a working covey or a breeder running several pens.

<>
Performance & Benefits
  • 2mm micro pellets, easier for quail to eat and digest than standard 3mm pellets.
  • 20% protein, the level a laying quail needs and well above a hen ration.
  • Carefully balanced proteins, energy and amino acids, in Marriage's own description.
  • Includes a specific layers premix to promote yolk colour.
  • Less waste than crumbling a hen pellet down or feeding a coarse mix.
  • 20kg bag for breeders and larger coveys.
<>
Suitable For
  • Laying quail from point of lay.
  • Quail breeders running several pens or a large covey.
  • Keepers who have been feeding hen pellets and are seeing waste or poor lay.
  • Not for growing quail chicks, which need a starter or grower crumb — and for a small covey the 7.5kg bag of the same feed is the sensible size.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed ad lib from point of lay.
  • Marriage's advise allowing at least 20g per bird per day.
  • Offer fine insoluble grit so birds can grind their food.
  • Fresh, clean water at all times, in a shallow drinker quail cannot drown in.
<>
Composition & Analysis
  • 20kg bag. 2mm micro pellet.
  • Crude protein 20%, which is the only analytical figure Marriage's publish for this feed.
  • Marriage's publish no ingredient list and no further analysis — no oil, fibre, ash, calcium, phosphorus or sodium figure — on their own website, and invite customers to contact them directly for a fuller nutritional analysis. None is invented here.
  • Treat the declaration printed on your bag as the authority.
<>
Care & Caution
  • A layers ration carries calcium for shell formation. It is not suitable for growing quail chicks, which need a starter or grower feed until they come into lay.
  • Quail drown easily. Use a shallow drinker or add pebbles to the water tray.
