Mollichaff Condition Complete – 15kg

Condition Complete is the weight-gain feed of the Mollichaff range and the richest bag in it: 10.5 MJ/kg, 10–12% protein and 6% oil, built on alfalfa, dried grass and fibre pellets with barley and soya flakes worked in. It is aimed squarely at the horse that eats everything put in front of it and still shows a rib.

Where it differs from a traditional conditioning mix is what holds the gut together while the weight goes on. Yea-sacc live yeast and a prebiotic are included to support fibre digestion and microbial stability, and mint is there for palatability with a horse that has gone off its feed. Fibre sits at 19% and starch at 8%, the highest in the range.

Performance & Benefits
  • Highest energy Mollichaff feed at 10.5 MJ/kg, with 6% oil for condition and coat.
  • 10–12% protein from alfalfa and soya flakes, supporting topline as well as covering weight.
  • Yea-sacc live yeast plus a prebiotic, to support fibre digestion and a stable hindgut.
  • Mint for palatability, which matters with a poor doer that picks at its feed.
  • Broad-spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement, so it works as the sole concentrate.
  • Fibre-led rather than cereal-led, so the calories come with 19% fibre attached.
<>
Suitable For
  • Poor doers and hard keepers that struggle to hold condition.
  • Horses recovering condition after illness, hard work or a difficult winter.
  • Horses needing a coat and topline improvement over a season.
  • Feeding as the sole concentrate alongside good-quality forage.
  • Not suitable for laminitic or insulin-resistant horses — it contains barley and declares 8% starch and 8.5–9.5% sugar. Mollichaff HoofKind Complete at 2.7% starch is the one to feed there.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed daily by bodyweight alongside good-quality forage: 1kg for a 200kg pony, 1.5kg at 300kg, 2kg at 400kg, 2.25kg at 450kg, 2.5kg at 500kg and 3kg at 600kg.
  • That is roughly 0.5kg per 100kg of bodyweight — 2.5kg a day for a typical 500kg horse.
  • One level Stubbs scoop (2.6 litres) of Condition Complete weighs approximately 0.50kg, so a 500kg horse takes about five level scoops daily.
  • Mollichaff advise feeding dry or damp according to preference, and introducing it gradually.
  • Split larger amounts across two or more feeds and keep clean fresh water available at all times.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: straw, alfalfa, grass, fibre pellets, molasses, barley, soya flakes, soya oil, mint, Yea-sacc, prebiotic, broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement.
  • Typical analysis: energy 10.5 MJ/kg. Protein 10–12%. Fibre 19%. Oil 6%. Starch 8%. Sugar 8.5–9.5%.
  • Bag size 15kg.
  • Mollichaff publish no ash, calcium or sodium figure and no inclusion rates for the Yea-sacc, prebiotic or vitamin and mineral premix, so none is stated here.
  • Our previous copy described Condition as low starch and omitted the molasses and barley. Mollichaff declare both, with starch at 8% — the highest in the Mollichaff range.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Contains barley and molasses, with 8% starch and 8.5–9.5% sugar. It is not suitable for horses or ponies with laminitis, EMS, PPID or insulin dysregulation.
  • This is the highest-starch feed Mollichaff make. Split the daily ration across two or more feeds rather than giving a large single meal.
  • A horse that will not hold weight on a feed of this quality needs investigating — teeth, worms, ulcers and PPID all present that way.
