Mollichaff DailyFibre Molasses Free – 12.5kg

DailyFibre is the molasses-free chaff for a horse still in work. Dried grass leads the ingredient list ahead of straw, which is why it runs at 9.1% protein and 8.6 MJ/kg — noticeably more feed value than Mollichaff Light, and enough to matter to a pony hacking or schooling several times a week rather than standing in a field.

Magnesium oxide is blended in for nerve and muscle function, and linseed oil supplies omega 3. Sugar is declared at 5.2% and starch at 3.7%, with no molasses, alfalfa, cereal grains or preservatives in the bag at all — a genuinely restricted-diet chaff that still carries something behind it.

Performance & Benefits
  • Molasses free, alfalfa free, cereal free and preservative free.
  • Sugar declared at 5.2% and starch at 3.7% — a true low-sugar chaff.
  • Dried grass and grass pellets lead the mix, giving 9.1% protein against 4.5% in Mollichaff Light.
  • 8.6 MJ/kg of controlled, slow-release energy from fibre rather than starch.
  • Added magnesium oxide, supporting normal nerve and muscle function.
  • Linseed oil, rich in omega 3, for joint, immune and coat support.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses and ponies in light to medium work needing fibre without molasses.
  • Horses on restricted or veterinary low-sugar diets that still need feed value.
  • Excitable or reactive types where magnesium is part of the management.
  • Use as a partial forage replacer alongside hay or haylage.
  • Too much feed value for a laminitic good doer needing calories stripped right back — Mollichaff Light Molasses Free at 7.5 MJ/kg and 1.8% sugar is the leaner option in the range.
<>
Feeding
  • Fed from a bucket to complement a hard feed: 0.25kg daily for the smallest ponies rising to 1.75kg daily for horses over 16.2hh.
  • Fed as a partial forage replacer: from 1.5kg daily for the smallest ponies up to 3.0kg daily for the largest horses.
  • One level Stubbs scoop of DailyFibre weighs approximately 0.4kg, so 2.5kg is about six level scoops.
  • Split larger amounts across two or more feeds and feed alongside good-quality forage.
  • Introduce gradually over 7–10 days and keep clean fresh water available at all times.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: dried grass, straw, fibre pellets, grass pellets, linseed oil, limestone, salt, magnesium oxide, flavouring.
  • Typical analysis: energy 8.6 MJ/kg. Protein 9.1%. Fibre 27%. Oil 6.2%. Starch 3.7%. Sugar 5.2%.
  • Bag size 12.5kg.
  • Mollichaff publish no ash, calcium or sodium figure for DailyFibre and no magnesium inclusion rate, so none is stated here.
  • Our previous copy carried 7.5 MJ/kg, 4.5% protein, 32.1% fibre, 8.2% oil, 1.8% sugar and 3.9% starch. Those are Mollichaff Light's figures, not DailyFibre's; the manufacturer's own DailyFibre analysis is the one above.
