Magic is NAF's herbal calmer, built on bio-available magnesium with a herb blend around it — withania, hops, liquorice root, fenugreek and chia among them. It is the product most people mean when they say a NAF calmer, and it is fed as a powder straight into the normal bucket feed.

The competition question is answered on the tub. NAF state that Magic Powder is audited under the BETA NOPS scheme as suitable for FEI competition, with the standard rider that anyone racing or competing internationally should check with their own authority. Feeding

• Loading rate for the first 7–10 days: 50–75g, or 2–3 scoops, per day.
• Maintenance thereafter: 25–50g, or 1–2 scoops, per day.
