NAF Off DEET Power Performance Gel – 750ml
The gel form of NAF's DEET repellent, for horses that will not stand to be sprayed and for the places a spray cannot safely reach. Worked in by hand it goes exactly where flies settle — around the ears, along the belly line, under the dock — with none of it drifting past the horse on the breeze.
The repellent action is the same as the spray: DEET confuses the insect's receptors, and NAF's independent trials give over 70% protection for six hours. A gel also clings better on a sweating horse than a liquid does, which counts for something on a close, humid day.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Gel formula stays put — no drift, no overspray, no hiss.
- DEET-based, independently trialled at over 70% protection for six hours.
- Applied by hand, so face, ears and dock can be treated precisely.
- Clings to a sweating coat better than a liquid.
- 750ml tub, NAF's only published size for the DEET gel.
Suitable For
- Spray-shy and headshy horses.
- Targeted protection on face, ears, belly and dock.
- Humid days when a liquid runs off with the sweat.
- Horses that get no useful cover from citronella.
- To cover a whole horse quickly, NAF Off DEET Power Performance Spray 750ml is much faster.
How to Use
- Wear disposable gloves.
- Take a small amount and work it into the coat where flies land.
- Use a cloth around the face and keep well clear of the eyes.
- Reapply after roughly six hours, and after rain or washing.

Care & Caution
- Wear gloves. DEET is absorbed through skin and should not be handled bare-handed for long.
- Keep out of eyes, nostrils and mouth, and off broken or sore skin.
- Do not use a human DEET product as a substitute — NAF warn the concentrations are too high for a horse.
- DEET can soften some plastics and varnishes; keep it off tack and rugs.
- Keep out of reach of children.
