Nettex Septi-Clense Clear Wound Spray – 200ml
Septi-Clense is the small bottle that lives in the first aid box for everyday damage — a scrape off a gatepost, a nick from a stud, a graze on a knee. It goes on clear, which is the whole point of it: the treated patch is not left stained orange or purple, so a horse can be tidied up in the morning and still go in the ring that afternoon.
Nettex have retired the Septi-Clense page from nettexequine.com, and it no longer appears in their published wound care range, so the label on the bottle is the authority for this one. Nothing is claimed below that we could not verify from Nettex directly, and no ingredient list or efficacy figure has been copied in from elsewhere.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Colourless in use, so it does not mark a grey, a white sock or a freshly clipped show coat.
- 200ml hand-sized bottle, small enough to live in a grooming box or a travelling kit.
- Sprayed straight onto the site, with no mixing, dilution or dressing needed first.
- Part of the Nettex equine first aid range, alongside their Veterinary Surgical Scrub.
Suitable For
- Minor cuts, grazes and abrasions on horses and ponies.
- Greys, part-coloureds and horses in show condition, where a coloured spray would show for days.
- Yard first aid kits and lorry or trailer kits.
- Quick clean-up between schooling sessions when there is no time to bandage.
- Not a substitute for the vet — a deep, bleeding or puncture wound, or anything near a joint, needs a call rather than a spray.
How to Use
- Clean the area first. Nettex recommend their Equine Veterinary Surgical Scrub, diluted 25ml to a litre of warm water, ahead of any topical wound preparation.
- Hold the bottle a short distance from the site and spray the area directly.
- Take the frequency and duration of application from the bottle label, since Nettex no longer publish directions online.
- Replace the cap after use and keep the nozzle clear of dried residue.
Specification
- 200ml spray bottle, supplied ready to use and undiluted. Barcode 5035104002549.
- Nettex publish no current ingredient list, active concentration or RRP for Septi-Clense, so none is reproduced here.
- Ingredient and performance figures that appear on some retail listings are not Nettex-published and have not been repeated.
- Made by Nettex, whose equine preparations are manufactured in the UK.
Care & Caution
- External use only. Keep clear of the eyes, nostrils and mouth.
- Stop and call the vet for anything beyond a superficial graze — deep, dirty, heavily bleeding or puncture wounds, and any wound over a joint or tendon sheath.
- Do not spray into a wound you cannot see the bottom of.
- Keep out of reach of children, and observe the warnings printed on the bottle, which are the current ones.
