Nettex Seven Day Mud Away – 500ml

Mud Away works by stopping mud sticking in the first place. Sprayed onto a clean, dry coat it leaves a water-repellent film on the hair, so when the horse comes in caked the dirt has nothing to key into and lifts off with a brush instead of a hose. Nettex rate one application at up to seven days, which is where the name comes from.

The practical gain is fewer winter washes. A horse that is not being sluiced down and towelled off every evening spends less time with wet legs, and that matters more than the tidiness — Nettex list reducing mud-related skin problems among the reasons for using it. The 500ml trigger bottle covers legs and belly on an average horse for several weeks.

Performance & Benefits
  • Single application gives up to seven days of protection, on Nettex's own figure.
  • Creates a waterproof barrier on the skin and hair so mud, muck and grit brush away dry.
  • Cuts washing down over the winter, which keeps legs drier between rides.
  • Nettex state it helps minimise mud-related skin conditions.
  • Can be used on the body, legs, mane and tail, and is not limited to winter.
  • Made in the UK. Nettex code FG02777.
<>
Suitable For
  • All horses and ponies, including feathered legs and grey coats.
  • Winter turnout on heavy or poached ground.
  • Horses whose legs need to stay dry rather than be washed every night.
  • Manes and tails that pick up mud when a horse rolls.
  • Not for broken, sore or bare skin — for a leg that is already scabbed or sore, the Nettex Muddy Marvel range is the one to look at rather than this.
<>
How to Use
  • Shake the bottle well before use.
  • Patch test first and wait 48 hours before treating the whole horse.
  • Spray evenly over the areas you want protected, without over-saturating the coat.
  • Brush through manes and tails after spraying so the product reaches all of the hair.
  • Allow to dry before turning out.
  • Reapply weekly, or sooner if conditions are bad.

Care & Caution
  • Do not apply to broken, sore or bare skin.
  • Do not use under boots or rugs — an oil-based barrier under a boot traps heat and rubs.
  • Carry out the 48 hour patch test before first use, as Nettex direct.
  • Avoid the eyes and muzzle when spraying the head end, and spray away from yourself in a confined stable.
  • A treated leg is a slippery leg for a while — take care handling and let it dry before working the horse.
