Pro-Equine Neem Oil – 1 Litre
This is 100% cold-pressed neem oil with no additives and no preservatives — one ingredient, pressed rather than extracted with solvent. Pro-Equine describe it as rich in nimbin, vitamin E, essential amino acids and essential fatty acids, and put it forward for moisturising skin, improving elasticity and stimulating hair regrowth.
The obvious uses are rug rubs, rubbed manes and tails, itchy skin and minor wounds, and it can go on neat or be diluted into a rinse or a spray. One practical point worth knowing before it arrives: neem oil solidifies in cold weather, so through the winter it needs warming gently before it will pour.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 100% cold-pressed neem oil with no additives or preservatives.
- Rich in nimbin, vitamin E, essential amino acids and essential fatty acids.
- Moisturises skin and improves elasticity.
- Pro-Equine say it stimulates hair regrowth, which is the point on rug rubs and rubbed manes.
- Antioxidant properties, and Pro-Equine describe it as promoting collagen growth.
- Can be used neat or diluted into a rinse or spray. Safe to use in sunlight.
Suitable For
- Rug rubs, and manes and tails rubbed thin.
- Itchy skin, scurf and dry patches.
- Minor cuts and scabs, and skincare through a wet winter.
- Owners who want a single-ingredient oil rather than a blend.
- For washing a whole horse rather than treating a patch, Pro-Equine's Neem Oil Horse Shampoo is the practical form.
How to Use
- Apply neat to itchy, rubbed or broken skin.
- To make a rinse or spray, dilute at least 1 part neem oil to 20 parts water, using a mild detergent or a Pro-Equine shampoo as an emulsifier.
- Wipe oil and debris off regularly with a clean, dry cloth.
- In cold weather the oil solidifies. Decant into a microwave-safe container and warm gently, or stand the container in hot water, until it pours again.
Specification
- Composition: 100% cold-pressed neem oil. No additives, no preservatives.
- 1 litre bottle. Pro-Equine also list a 250ml size.
- Minimum dilution for a rinse or spray: 1 part neem to 20 parts water.
- Pro-Equine publish no analytical constituents or fatty acid breakdown for the oil, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- Warm the oil gently. Do not overheat it in a microwave, and never warm it in the original bottle or in a container that is not microwave-safe.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. For external use on animals; keep out of reach of children.
- Neem oil is a skincare oil, not a licensed treatment. Sweet itch and mud fever that is spreading or not settling need veterinary advice.
