Pure Condition Mix – 15kg
Pure Condition Mix puts weight on with oil rather than cereal starch. Rapeseed oil, linseed and unmolassed sugar beet take the oil content to 12.6% while starch sits at just 2% — the lowest figure in the Pure range — so the calories arrive slowly and without the edge a grain-based conditioning feed can bring.
It is a complete feed rather than a straight, with Pure's own balancer built in, so a horse fed at the recommended rate needs no separate vitamin and mineral supplement. Pure state it suits horses with laminitis, EMS and ulcers, and it is that 2% starch figure, rather than the marketing, that makes the claim stand up.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 12.6% oil and 11 MJ/kg digestible energy for slow-release condition without cereal starch.
- Starch at 2% — the lowest of any feed in the Pure range.
- Balancer built in, supplying vitamins, minerals, amino acids and trace elements in one bag.
- Rapeseed oil, linseed and unmolassed sugar beet as the principal calorie sources.
- 23% fibre with fructo-oligosaccharides and Vistacell yeast supporting hindgut function.
- Free from molasses.
Suitable For
- Horses that have lost condition or struggle to hold it.
- Horses needing topline and muscle rather than fizz.
- Laminitic, EMS and ulcer-prone horses that still need to gain weight — Pure name all three.
- Poor doers on restricted or poor grazing.
- Horses needing energy for fast work rather than condition are better served by Pure Performance, though that carries far more starch.
Feeding
- Feed 400–600g per 100kg bodyweight per day — 2–3kg for a 500kg horse.
- Set the amount within that range according to condition and workload.
- Split the daily ration across at least two feeds where it exceeds about 2kg.
- Introduce gradually over 10–14 days; the oil level is high and the gut needs time to adapt.
- Feed alongside generous forage with fresh water available at all times.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: grass pellets, oatfeed pellets, grass chaff, oat chaff, unmolassed sugarbeet, rapeseed oil, wheatfeed, sunflower extract, dark distiller grains, linseed, vitamins and minerals, sodium chloride, limestone, di-calcium phosphate, fructo-oligosaccharides and Vistacell yeast.
- Digestible energy 11 MJ/kg. Protein 13%. Oil 12.6%. Fibre 23%. Starch 2%. Naturally occurring sugar 7%.
- Calcium 0.8%. Phosphorus 0.4%. Salt 1.2%.
- Combined sugar and starch of 9%, which is what places it inside the usual threshold for metabolically sensitive horses.
- Pure publish no full vitamin and trace element breakdown for this feed, so none is stated here.
