Pyrat XO Reserve is the flagship rum of Pyrat, a brand long associated with Anguilla and now a product of The Patrón Spirits Company, best known for Patrón tequila. The rum is a blend of nine aged Caribbean rums, categorized by most retailers as Guyanese, aged for up to 15 years in French Limousin oak and American oak barrels, although most of the components are younger than that, and it is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The label lists honey and Master of Malt files it as a flavored rum, so expect something closer to a rum liqueur than a dry aged Demerara. The squat, corked decanter is modeled on 1800s ship captains' bottles, each hand-numbered and hung with a small figure of Hoti, patron saint of bartenders.
