ReadiGrass – 15kg Bale

The original dried grass, grown, harvested and dried on the Friendship Estates farm in Yorkshire with absolutely nothing added. Water is removed gently in a low-temperature drying process, which retains the natural flavours, smell, colour and — most importantly — the nutrient value of fresh grass.

That makes it more nutritious than hay while still carrying the digestible fibre a horse's gut depends on. For a horse with limited or no access to pasture it is about as close to fresh grass as you can get without being in a field, and it is palatable enough that neither oil nor molasses is needed to make a horse eat it.

Feeding

• Feed as a forage source alongside or in place of part of the hay ration.
• Introduce gradually when changing forage.

Care & Caution

• Store off the ground in a dry place. Discard if it becomes damp or shows any sign of mould.
• Dried grass is more nutritious than hay, so it is not a like-for-like replacement by weight. Take advice on quantities for a good doer or laminitis-prone horse.
