ReadyFibre Mash is Rowen Barbary's hay replacer: entirely digestible fibre, no cereals at all, and no alfalfa, barley or wheat either. It soaks in five minutes into a soft mash, which makes it a practical way of getting fibre into a horse that can no longer manage long-stem hay, or one stabled for long stretches with limited forage.

The declared analysis is what makes it worth using — 32.5% fibre with starch at 5% and sugar at 2.5%, on 7.5 MJ/kg. Feeding

• Soak for 5 minutes with at least equal volumes of dry feed and water, or to the consistency you prefer.

• Split a large daily amount across three or more feeds so the horse is never long without fibre.
