Rowen Barbary ReadyFibre Mash – 20kg
ReadyFibre Mash is Rowen Barbary's hay replacer: entirely digestible fibre, no cereals at all, and no alfalfa, barley or wheat either. It soaks in five minutes into a soft mash, which makes it a practical way of getting fibre into a horse that can no longer manage long-stem hay, or one stabled for long stretches with limited forage.
The declared analysis is what makes it worth using — 32.5% fibre with starch at 5% and sugar at 2.5%, on 7.5 MJ/kg. Rowen Barbary list it for horses that suffer from laminitis as well as for good doers and anything on a low-energy diet. The green bag separates it from the blue ReadyMash and the red ReadyMash Extra.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Composed entirely of digestible fibre, formulated to support hindgut health.
- Cereal-free, with no alfalfa, barley or wheat — useful where a feed intolerance is known.
- Very low starch at 5% and sugar at 2.5%, on 7.5 MJ/kg of digestible energy.
- Soaks in five minutes into a soft, highly palatable mash.
- Can replace part or all of the hay ration.
- Carries water into the horse, which helps in cold weather and after travelling.
Suitable For
- Horses that struggle to chew or manage long-stem forage.
- Good doers and anything needing a low-energy diet.
- Horses stabled for extended periods with restricted forage.
- Horses that suffer from laminitis — Rowen Barbary name this feed for them.
- Horses on a higher-cereal ration that need their fibre intake lifted.
Feeding
- Soak for 5 minutes with at least equal volumes of dry feed and water, or to the consistency you prefer.
- Fed as half the total diet, Rowen Barbary's guide runs from 2–3kg a day for a 12hh pony to 8.5–9.5kg for a horse of 17hh and over.
- Split a large daily amount across three or more feeds so the horse is never long without fibre.
- Adjust to condition and workload, and change over gradually across 7–10 days.
- Supplied in a 20kg bag.
Composition & Analysis
