Simple System Sainfoin Brix – 20kg

Sainfoin is the third plant in Simple System's range, alongside grass and lucerne — an ancient forage legume sometimes called 'healthy hay', and a firm favourite with bees. Compressed into 1kg blocks and fed whole and dry, Sainfoin Brix give a horse something to work at while adding a forage type most diets never include.

What sets sainfoin apart is its condensed tannins. These naturally occurring compounds aid the digestion of protein, so feeding sainfoin alongside hay or grass helps a horse extract more from the rest of its ration.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: 100% dried sainfoin. 20kg, supplied as 1kg blocks.

  • No vitamins are added; the forage carries them naturally. Seasonal variation occurs and each bag details the batch analysis.

Care & Caution
  • Brix require good teeth. Simple System do not recommend them for older or dentally challenged horses — soaked pellets such as Sainfoin Pellets are the better option.
