Skinner's Field & Trial Working 26 – 15kg
Working 26 takes its name from its protein level and it is the hardest-working adult recipe here: 26% protein, 16% fat and 375 kcal per 100g. Poultry meat meal heads the composition, with wheat, maize, naked oats and barley behind it supplying the bulk of the energy.
Skinner's rate it for dogs working at a moderate to high intensity — full days rather than an hour's training. A 15kg bag is what a working kennel gets through, and the density means a greedy dog can be filled up on a smaller volume than a maintenance food needs.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 26% crude protein and 16% crude fat, at 375 kcal per 100g — the highest energy adult recipe in this range.
- Poultry meat meal as the leading ingredient.
- A four-cereal base of wheat, maize, naked oats and barley for sustained energy across a long day.
- Beet pulp at a crude fibre level of 3% to hold stool quality under heavy feeding.
- Vitamin A at 17,500iu/kg, vitamin D3 at 2,000iu/kg and vitamin E at 200mg/kg.
- Crude ash 7.5%, with a full trace element package.
Suitable For
- Dogs working regularly at a moderate to high intensity through a season.
- Hard-conditioned dogs that struggle to hold weight on a standard ration.
- Greedy feeders, where a denser food means a smaller and more manageable bowl.
- Kennels wanting one high-energy food across several working dogs.
- Not the recipe for a cereal-sensitive dog — wheat, maize and barley are all present. Field & Trial Chicken & Rice is formulated without them.
Feeding
- Feed dry or moistened with a little tepid water.
- Skinner's publish their daily amounts as a bodyweight chart rather than a single figure, so work from the guide printed on the bag and adjust to condition.
- Split the ration into two meals and leave a clear gap either side of work rather than feeding a full bowl immediately before or after it.
- Drop back to a maintenance recipe when the season ends, before the condition goes on.
- Change over gradually, mixing an increasing share of the new food with the old across several days.
- Fresh drinking water at all times.

Care & Caution
- This is a working ration. Fed at the same volume to a dog that is not working, 16% fat and 375 kcal per 100g will put condition on fast.
- If the dog's work stops — an injury, the end of the season, a change of home — move it onto Field & Trial Maintenance rather than simply cutting the bowl, or the protein stays high while the calories fall.
- Leave an hour either side of hard exercise before and after feeding a large meal of a dense food such as this one.
