Smart Garden G100 Anti-Weed Fabric – 1m x 15m

G100 is the heavier of Smart Garden's two woven weed membranes: 100 grams per square metre against 50 for the G50, in a 1m by 15m roll that covers 15 square metres. The extra weight is what you want under gravel, hardcore and stone chippings, where a light membrane gets punctured by the stone itself within a season or two.

The weave lets water and liquid feed through to the soil while blocking the light that weed seed needs, and it is UV treated so an exposed edge does not go brittle in the first hot summer. Smart Garden supply it as product code 7015001 at a packed weight of 1.625kg.

How to Use

• Clear perennial weeds and level the ground before you start; the membrane suppresses seedlings, not established roots.
• Roll out along the length of the area and cut to size with scissors or a sharp knife.
• Overlap adjoining strips by at least 10cm so light cannot reach the soil at the joins.
• Pin down with ground pegs, then cover with at least 5cm of gravel or bark.
• To plant through it, cut a cross in the fabric, fold the flaps back, plant, then lay the flaps around the stem.
