This is an insert, not a standalone doormat: 23 by 53cm of natural coconut coir on a PVC backing, printed with a row of toadstools, sized to drop into a Smart Garden rubber Decoir frame. The frame stays put by the door and the insert gets swapped when it wears out or when you fancy a different design, which works out cheaper than replacing a whole mat.

Smart Garden build the whole Decoir insert range to the same 23 x 53 x 1.5cm format, so any insert in the range fits any frame. Used loose without a frame it still scrapes boots, but the frame is what stops it creeping across a tiled porch floor.

How to Use

• Lay the insert into the recess of a Smart Garden rubber Decoir frame, coir side up.
• If using it without a frame, put it on a dry, level surface — coir on wet tiles will slide.
• Let it dry fully, then brush or shake the dirt out. Do not wash or hose it.
• Keep it out of standing water; saturated coir rots and loses its stiffness.
• Turn it end to end every few weeks so one end does not take all the traffic.
