SPILLERS Apple Horse Treats – 8 x 1kg Bulk Buy

Eight sealed 1kg bags of the apple treat, bought as one case. This is the pack for a yard treating several horses, or for anyone doing regular clicker work, where a single kilo goes in a fortnight and the cost per kilo starts to matter.

Eight separate bags is a better format for eight kilos than one large sack: each stays closed until it is opened, so the last bag is as firm and aromatic as the first rather than softening in a feed bin over a winter.

<>
Performance & Benefits
  • Eight individually sealed 1kg bags, 8kg in total.
  • Lower cost per kilo than buying single bags one at a time.
  • Each bag stays sealed until opened, so the treats do not soften in storage.
  • Same apple recipe as the single bag — grass nuts, wheat and dried apple.
  • Made under the BETA NOPS scheme, which all Spillers feeds are covered by.
<>
Suitable For
  • Yards and liveries treating several horses.
  • Regular clicker or positive-reinforcement training that gets through treats quickly.
  • Owners who would rather buy once a season than once a month.
  • Not a sensible treat for a laminitic or insulin-dysregulated pony — they contain molasses and wheat, and Spillers publish no sugar figure for them.
<>
Feeding
  • Give one or two treats at a time.
  • Complementary feed for equines: use alongside compound feed and forage, up to 200g a day per horse.
  • Open one bag at a time and reseal it between uses.
  • Keep forage and clean water available as normal.
<>
Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: grass nuts, wheat, molasses, wheatfeed, calcium carbonate, rapeseed oil, dried apple.
  • Spillers publish no typical analysis for their treats and direct owners to the Care-Line for a full nutrient analysis, so no protein, oil, fibre, sugar or ash figures are stated here.
  • Analytical figures for these treats appear on some retail listings, including this store's own previous copy. Spillers do not publish them, so they have been removed.
  • 8 x 1kg, 8kg total.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Molasses and wheat are both in the recipe and no sugar figure is published, so these are not suitable for a horse or pony prone to laminitis or with diagnosed insulin dysregulation.
  • Eight kilos is a lot of treats in a feed room. Keep the case where horses cannot reach it — free access to a bag is a colic and choke risk, not a treat.
