SPILLERS Flex – 3kg

Flex is a pelleted joint supplement carrying seven actives where most competitors run to two or three. Per 100g it supplies glucosamine HCl 12g, MSM 6g, rosehips 5g, chondroitin sulphate 1g, boswellia serrata 1g, hyaluronic acid 150mg and DHA 150mg, the last of these from algae rather than fish oil.

The 3kg tub is 30 days for a horse over 450kg fed at 100g, or two months for a pony at 50g. Judge it over that timescale rather than a fortnight: joint supplements are assessed on how a horse feels after a couple of tubs, not after a week.

Feeding

• Horses and ponies up to 450kg: 50g daily, one level scoop.
• Horses over 450kg: 100g daily, two level scoops.
• Mix into the existing feed; the pellets are small enough to disappear into a chaff.
• Feed continuously — a tub is 30 days at the horse rate.
• Clean fresh water at all times.

Care & Caution

• Do not feed to pregnant or lactating mares. This is Spillers' own instruction on the pack.
• Persistent or one-sided lameness needs veterinary investigation. A joint supplement supports a healthy joint; it does not treat a diagnosed problem, and feeding one is not a reason to delay a lameness workup.
