Stubbs Spiral Bucket Hanger
A coiled steel hanger that winds onto a stable bar, grille or fence rail and holds a bucket handle clear of the floor. Nothing is drilled or bolted: the spiral twists on, the bucket hangs off it, and the whole thing comes away again when you want to move it.
Stubbs make steel stable and tack room equipment in England, and this is sold under their name. It is worth saying plainly, though, that Stubbs do not list a Spiral Bucket Hanger in their own published catalogue, so no dimensions, steel gauge, coating or load rating are given below — we will not quote figures the manufacturer has not declared.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Winds onto a bar, grille or rail without tools, screws or wall fixings.
- Holds a standard handled stable bucket clear of the floor, so bedding and droppings stay out of the water.
- Comes off as easily as it goes on, so it moves between boxes or travels to a show.
- No wall drilling, which matters in rented boxes and temporary stabling.
- Takes up almost no room when it is not in use.
Suitable For
- Stables with barred fronts, grilles or a top rail to wind it onto.
- Rented or temporary stabling where you cannot drill the wall.
- Shows and events, where a bucket needs hanging and taking down quickly.
- Field gates and post-and-rail fencing with a rail of a suitable diameter.
- Not a permanent water point — for a fixed bucket position the Stubbs wall-fixing bucket holders are the stronger answer.
How to Use
- Wind the spiral onto a bar or rail it closes around properly, and check it cannot slide along.
- Hang the bucket by its handle rather than hooking it over the rim.
- Take the bucket down to fill and empty it rather than filling it in place.
- Wipe the hanger over when you scrub the bucket, and dry it.
- Lift it off and store it inside if the box is standing empty for a season.
Specification
- Steel spiral hanger for a standard handled stable bucket.
- Fits by winding onto an existing bar, grille or rail; no wall fixings supplied or needed.
- Supplied as a single hanger. Buckets are sold separately.
- Stubbs list no Spiral Bucket Hanger in their own catalogue and publish no dimensions, weight, steel gauge, coating or load rating for it, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- A full 18-litre bucket weighs around 18kg. Check the spiral is closed tightly on the bar before hanging one, and check it again after a horse has knocked it.
- Do not hang a bucket at a height where a horse can get a foot, a headcollar or a rug strap over it.
