Thunderbrook Daily Essentials – 3kg
The 3kg tub is the everyday size of Daily Essentials. At Thunderbrook's 50g rate for a 500kg horse it runs to about sixty days — two months of balanced vitamins and minerals from one tub, which is where most owners settle once they know the horse eats it.
What is inside does not change with the size. Thunderbrook formulate Daily Essentials to meet the full daily requirement of the main vitamins, minerals, probiotics and nutrients alongside an average UK forage diet, and to do it with negligible sugar, starch and calories, so a good-doer is not fed weight along with the nutrition.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Covers the main daily vitamin, mineral and probiotic requirements alongside average UK forage.
- Negligible sugar, starch and calories — what the balancer leaves out is the point of it.
- Chelated zinc, copper, selenium, magnesium and calcium, chosen for absorption rather than bulk.
- Naturally sourced vitamins, with vitamin E and selenium as the antioxidant pair.
- High levels of B vitamins to support a healthy metabolism.
- A full daily dose of live yeast (Yeasacc 1026) for digestive health.
- No added iron or manganese, on the basis that UK forage supplies enough of both already.
Suitable For
- Horses and ponies from 250kg to 750kg, which is the range Thunderbrook's scoop rates cover.
- Good-doers who need the nutrition without the calories.
- Horses whose diet has to stay low in sugar and starch — the stated purpose of the formulation.
- One horse fed through a season without repeat ordering every month.
- Not the right tub if you are only trying the product out; the 1.5kg is the size for that.
Feeding
- Pony up to 250kg: one 25g scoop a day.
- Pony or horse 250–500kg: two scoops, 50g a day.
- Horse 500–750kg: three scoops, 75g a day.
- Mix with a Thunderbrook chaff or muesli and dampen well before feeding.
- Build up over three to five days, and do not exceed the amounts above.
- At two scoops a day the 3kg tub lasts about sixty days.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: monocalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, Yeasacc 1026, blue-green algae.
- Thunderbrook's published analytical constituents: calcium 10%, phosphorus 3.3%, sodium 0.3%.
- Additives include naturally sourced vitamins A, D3 and E, biotin, lysine, methionine and chelated trace elements.
- Iron and manganese are deliberately absent.
- The full additive declaration is printed on the tub. Thunderbrook do not publish the per-kilo figures on their website, so they are not repeated here.
- 3kg tub. Also made in 1.5kg and in a 15kg bulk pack.
Care & Caution
- For equine use only — Thunderbrook say do not feed it to sheep.
- Stick to the scoop rates; more is not better with a concentrated balancer.
- Introduce it over three to five days alongside the existing feed.
