Thunderbrook Gut Restore – 1kg

Gut Restore is Thunderbrook's digestive supplement, and it works by soothing and coating rather than by neutralising acid. Inner slippery elm bark supplies the mucilage, with meadowsweet, marshmallow root, rosehip and liquorice around it, plus purified pectin extract, beta glucans, food-grade beeswax and phosphatidyl choline.

Thunderbrook's own description is that it supports gut comfort, maintains healthy digestion and promotes happy tummies, working with the horse's digestive system rather than against it. One thing to know before buying: the meadowsweet makes it unsuitable for horses competing under FEI or racing rules, and Thunderbrook say so themselves.

Performance & Benefits
  • Inner slippery elm bark as the mucilage source — the coating ingredient the blend is built around.
  • Meadowsweet, marshmallow root, rosehip and liquorice as the supporting herbs.
  • Purified pectin extract and beta glucans.
  • Food-grade beeswax and phosphatidyl choline.
  • Thunderbrook state it supports gut comfort and healthy digestion without chemical neutralisers.
  • Can be dropped to half rate for long-term maintenance feeding.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses needing digestive support alongside a forage-first diet.
  • Ulcer-prone and sensitive horses kept at home.
  • Long-term maintenance feeding, at the reduced rate.
  • Feeding alongside Thunderbrook Liquid Gold, which Thunderbrook pair it with.
  • Not usable on a horse competing under FEI or racing rules because of the meadowsweet — a competition horse needs a different product.
<>
Feeding
  • Horse around 600kg: two level 50ml scoops a day. A level scoop is 25g.
  • Pony around 300kg: one level scoop a day.
  • Mix into hard feed or chaff, and split between two meals where you can.
  • For long-term maintenance, feed half the amount above.
  • At two scoops a day a 1kg bag is about twenty days.
  • Fresh water at all times.

Care & Caution
  • Not suitable for horses competing under FEI or racing rules. Thunderbrook attribute this to the meadowsweet, which may be restricted under competition regulations.
  • Check the current rules yourself before feeding anything herbal to a competing horse — the lists change.
  • A horse showing signs of gastric pain needs a veterinary diagnosis, not a supplement on its own.
