Thunderbrook Ulsa-X Prebiotic Mash – 15kg

Ulsa-X is Thunderbrook's prebiotic mash, built on dried Bavarian alpine grasses and herbs with oat bran, apple pomace and a patented fermented extract of Jerusalem artichoke. The artichoke extract is the active idea behind the feed: a prebiotic that feeds the beneficial gut bacteria rather than adding bacteria of its own.

Around it sit esparsette, psyllium husk, toasted linseed crumble, oat and linseed oils, prebiotic yeast, lecithin, fenugreek and barberry bark. Sugar is 3.1% and starch 6.3%, with 19.4% crude fibre at 9.75 MJ/kg — low enough for a horse with a sensitive gut, and it can be fed up in quantity where condition is the aim.

Performance & Benefits
  • Patented fermented extract of Jerusalem artichoke as the prebiotic.
  • Sugar 3.1%, starch 6.3% and fructans 2.0% — low right across the board.
  • Psyllium husk and toasted linseed alongside the alpine fibre.
  • 19.4% crude fibre at 9.75 MJ/kg.
  • Highly palatable, which matters when the horse you are feeding it to has gone off its feed.
  • Fed at 50–100g for general support, or up to 1.2kg a day where condition is wanted.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses Thunderbrook describe as prone to digestive sensitivity, including ulcer-prone horses.
  • Older horses and horses convalescing.
  • Competition horses under the stress of travelling and competing.
  • Fussy eaters that need something palatable in the bucket.
  • Not a hay replacer — it is a mash fed in small amounts, and the horse still needs its forage.
<>
Feeding
  • For general digestive support: ponies 50–100g a day, horses 100–200g a day.
  • For condition: up to 1,200g a day for a horse.
  • Mix one part mash to five parts warm water.
  • Split across two feeds where the daily amount is larger.
  • Introduce gradually, with fresh water always available.
