A blend of alfalfa and oat straw — the lowest-calorie chop in the TopChop range, for good doers that still need something in the bucket.

Oat straw is what brings the calories down. Blending it with alfalfa rather than using straw alone keeps the protein and calcium up, which avoids the usual problem with cheap straw chaffs: a horse kept slim but losing muscle.

Feeding

• Feed alongside a TopSpec balancer such as AntiLam or Lite Feed Balancer.
• TopSpec suggest an overweight 12hh pony on box rest receives 125g of AntiLam plus 1kg of TopChop Lite, twice daily.
• Introduce gradually, as with any new feed.
• Ensure clean, fresh water is always available.
