Woof Wear Contour Head Collar – Electric Blue, Small

Electric Blue is one of the brighter colours in Woof Wear's Contour range, and on a yard where half a dozen head collars hang on the same rail that is a practical advantage as much as a cosmetic one. Underneath the colour it is the same collar throughout: soft polypropylene webbing with neoprene padding over the noseband and the poll.

Woof Wear list the Contour in three fittings — Pony, Cob and Full Size — and this Small is the Pony fitting, cut for a pony or a small, fine-headed horse. The headpiece carries two buckles instead of one, which lets you level the collar from both sides and set the noseband height without the whole thing dragging over to one cheek.

How to Use

• Set the noseband about two fingers below the projecting cheek bone, clear of the soft cartilage lower down the nose.
• Adjust both headpiece buckles rather than one, so the cheekpieces hang level and the jaw ring sits centrally.
• Allow a hand's width of room at the throat.
• Machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle spin with non-biological detergent. Bright colours keep their depth better washed cool.
• Do not tumble dry and do not dry it in strong sunlight.

Care & Caution

• This is not a breakaway head collar. There is no safety release, and Woof Wear do not describe it as breakaway, so do not leave it on a pony turned out. A collar snagged on a gate or a branch with nothing to give causes serious injury.
• Tie only to a loop of breakable string, never directly to a ring, post or trailer tie.
• Check the stitching at the buckles and at the jaw ring regularly. On a small collar the loads are the same and the webbing is narrower.
