Red Gorilla Gorilla Tub Large 38L – Green

In green the 38 litre Gorilla Tub reads as a garden tub more than a yard one, and that is where most of them end up — hedge clippings, windfalls, potting compost and the annual leaf haul. Thirty-eight litres is roughly a wheelbarrow load split in two, at 33cm deep and 44.5cm across the top.

Green is one of the three colours Red Gorilla exclude from their BPA-free claim. The LDPE is food grade either way, but for a dedicated feed or water tub the BPA-free colours are the safer pick.

Performance & Benefits

• The LDPE body flexes. Stand on the rim or drop it off a tailgate and it deforms and springs back where a rigid bucket would split at the seam.

• Ribbed sides stiffen the walls when it is full, so it carries without folding in the middle.
• Chamfered rim pours cleanly and lets a shovel or a dustpan sweep straight in.
• Green disappears against a hedge or a border, which matters if the tub lives outside.

How to Use

• Lift a full tub with both handles. One-handed carrying pulls the flexible wall out of shape and slops the contents.
• To clear ice, turn the tub over and flex the sides until the block drops out whole.
• Rinse with warm water and a mild detergent; the smooth interior has no seam for feed to lodge in.
• Store upside down or nested inside another tub so rain and leaves do not collect.
• Slide rather than drag a loaded tub across concrete — the base scuffs before the walls do.

• This is the deep Large tub. Red Gorilla also make a Large Shallow at 35 litres, an Extra Large at 75 litres and a Mini Shallow at 5 litres.
• Red Gorilla describe the tub as flexible and weather resistant. Frost- and UV-resistance claims appear on some retail listings, including our own earlier copy; Red Gorilla publish neither, and publish no tub weight or load rating, so none is stated here.
