Agrifence Earth Lead with Crocodile Clip
A single replacement earth lead, terminated in a crocodile clip, for connecting an energiser to an earth rod or to the negative terminal of a battery. Agrifence colour their earth leads green so it is obvious which is which when both ends look the same in a hedge bottom.
Earthing is the single commonest reason an electric fence disappoints. The pulse has to travel out along the conductor, through the animal, into the soil and back to the energiser through the earth rod — and if that return path is poor, the fence will read a healthy voltage on a tester and still not stop anything. A corroded earth lead is one of the easiest faults in that chain to find and to fix.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Connects the energiser to an earth rod or to a battery's negative terminal.
- Crocodile clip termination grips a rod or a terminal post without tools.
- Colour-coded green to match Agrifence's convention for earth connections.
- Sold as a replacement part, so a damaged earth lead need not mean a new energiser kit.
- Insulated cable built for permanent outdoor exposure.
Suitable For
- Agrifence 9V and 12V energisers using croc clip connections.
- Renewing an earth lead that has corroded, frayed or lost clip tension.
- Anyone diagnosing a fence that tests well at the energiser but does not deter stock.
- One lead only — it does not include an earth rod. A short 300mm rod is rarely enough in dry ground; a one metre rod driven fully in is the usual answer.
- Not the lead for an Eco Dual Power energiser, which takes the moulded Agrifence Eco Dual Power Energiser to Battery Leads, code H8006.
How to Use
- Switch the energiser off before touching either end.
- Clip one end to the energiser's earth terminal and the other to a clean section of earth rod, above ground.
- Drive the earth rod its full length into damp ground, well away from any mains earth or buried services.
- Scrape the rod bright where the clip bites; rust is an insulator.
- Check the connection each spring, when the ground has been dry and faults show up.
