A step up from the DP1205E, the DP1210E stores 2.0 joules and delivers 1.0 joule of output. That extra energy is what buys performance in difficult conditions: Agrifence rate it at 15,000 metres of fence in low vegetation, 3,000 metres in medium, and — the figure that matters — 1,500 metres even in high vegetation, where the smaller unit is not rated at all.

Like the rest of the Eco Dual Power range it runs from a 12V leisure battery or from the mains through the supplied adaptor, and its eco mode can extend a battery charge up to four times. It also carries a fence pulse indicator, a low battery indicator and battery protection, so the unit tells you what is happening rather than leaving you to find out from the stock.

How to Use

• Mount the unit on the supplied earth stake or on a post, clear of the ground.
• Drive the earth stake fully into damp soil, well clear of any mains earth or buried services.
• Connect the earth lead to the stake and the fence lead to the conductor.
• For battery running, connect the 12V leads red to positive and black to negative; for mains, fit the supplied adaptor.
• Use eco mode for normal running and watch the low battery indicator rather than waiting for the fence to fail.
• Test with a voltmeter at the far end of the run as well as at the energiser.

Care & Caution

• This unit connects to a 230V mains supply through its adaptor. Use an outdoor-rated socket with RCD protection and keep the adaptor under cover.
• Switch the energiser off and disconnect it from the fence before working on the line.
• Warning signs are a legal requirement every 50 metres where the fence adjoins a public right of way.
• Never energise barbed wire. An animal caught on an electrified barb cannot get free.
• Only one energiser per fence line, and keep the earth stake well clear of any mains earth or buried service.
