Agrifence Live Lead on Croc Clip

The live lead is the short cable that carries the pulse out of the energiser and onto the fence, or back to the positive terminal of a battery. Agrifence list it as a replacement part, code H5462, because it is usually the first thing on an energiser installation to fail — chewed, trodden on, or corroded at the clip.

It is worth keeping a spare. An energiser that reads its full output at the terminal but shows nothing on the fence is almost always a broken live lead rather than a broken energiser, and swapping one in takes a minute against a week waiting on a repair.

<>
Performance & Benefits
  • Crocodile clip termination, so it fits a fence line or a battery post without tools.
  • Insulated along its length to stop the pulse leaking before it reaches the fence.
  • Sold as a replacement part rather than only inside a kit.
  • Rules an energiser in or out as the cause of a dead fence in one swap.
  • Pairs with the Agrifence Earth Lead on Croc Clip, code H5461, which is the return half of the same job.
<>
Suitable For
  • Agrifence battery and mains energisers using croc clip leads.
  • Replacing a lead that has been chewed, crushed or corroded.
  • Keeping as a spare in the tack room or trailer.
  • Battery installations where the lead runs to the positive terminal.
  • Not the earth side of the circuit — the Agrifence Earth Lead on Croc Clip is the one that goes to the earth stake, and the fence will not work properly without both.
<>
How to Use
  • Switch the energiser off before connecting or disconnecting anything.
  • Clip the lead to the energiser's live or fence terminal.
  • Take the other clip to the fence line, or to the positive terminal of the battery, depending on which end you are replacing.
  • Keep the lead off the ground and clear of earthed metalwork along its run.
  • Check the clip jaws for corrosion each time you service the fence and clean them back to bright metal.
