The live lead is the short cable that carries the pulse out of the energiser and onto the fence, or back to the positive terminal of a battery. It is worth keeping a spare. An energiser that reads its full output at the terminal but shows nothing on the fence is almost always a broken live lead rather than a broken energiser, and swapping one in takes a minute against a week waiting on a repair.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off before connecting or disconnecting anything.
