Agrifence Offset Ring Insulator – 21cm, Pack of 10

The rope and wire version of the offset, standing the conductor 21cm out from the post on a straight shaft. Agrifence's stated purpose for it is protecting permanent fence posts from being damaged by animals: the live line sits far enough proud that a horse rubbing on the fence gets the message before it reaches the timber.

The straight shaft is the practical detail. It takes the Agrifence Speediso drill bit, so a hundred of these go into a run of posts from a cordless drill rather than a screwdriver and a sore wrist. Ten per pack, code H6041.

Performance & Benefits
  • 21cm offset keeps rope or wire clear of the post and of the animal's reach.
  • Ring fitting suits round conductors — rope and wire alike.
  • Straight shaft, compatible with the Agrifence Speediso drill bit for fast fitting.
  • Protects permanent posts from rubbing, chewing and leaning damage.
  • Ten per pack.
  • Retrofits to existing timber fencing without altering the fence itself.
<>
Suitable For
  • Adding a live rope or wire line inside an existing post-and-rail or stock fence.
  • Permanent paddock fencing being damaged by horses or cattle.
  • Braided rope systems up to 6mm.
  • Runs long enough to justify drilling the insulators in rather than turning them by hand.
  • Not the fitting for tape, which folds and loses contact in a ring — the Agrifence Offset Tape Insulator, 20cm, clips tape flat instead.
<>
How to Use
  • Set the height to suit the stock: chest height for horses, lower for cattle and young stock.
  • Drive the straight shaft into sound timber, ideally with the Speediso bit in a cordless drill.
  • Point every offset the same way into the field, and keep them level along the run.
  • Thread the rope or wire through the ring rather than tying to it, so the line can be tensioned.
  • Check the ring for wear where a rope runs through it, and swap out any insulator that has worn a groove.
