Agrifence Offset Tape Insulator – 20cm, Pack of 10

An offset insulator does one job: it stands the live line 20cm clear of the post, so an animal meets the electric line before it meets the timber. Fitted to an existing post-and-rail or stock fence, it turns a fence horses lean on into a fence they keep off, without rebuilding anything.

This is the tape version, code H4838, taking anything up to 40mm wide in a precision locking clip with a buffer built in. Ten per pack. It is the standard answer to a post-and-rail fence being chewed, rubbed or pushed through, and a far cheaper one than replacing rails.

Performance & Benefits
  • 20cm offset holds the live tape clear of the post, so the animal meets the line first.
  • Takes tape up to 40mm wide in a precision locking clip.
  • Built-in buffer protects the tape from wear at the contact point.
  • Retrofits to existing post-and-rail, stock and timber fencing.
  • Ten per pack.
  • Stops rubbing, chewing and leaning without replacing the fence.
<>
Suitable For
  • Post-and-rail fencing being damaged by horses leaning or chewing.
  • Adding an electric line inside an existing stock fence.
  • Paddocks where the field boundary needs protecting rather than replacing.
  • Wide-tape systems from 12mm up to 40mm.
  • Not the one for rope or wire, which needs a ring rather than a clip — the Agrifence Offset Ring Insulator at 21cm is the version for round conductors.
<>
How to Use
  • Fit at the height the animal makes contact — chest height for horses, lower for young stock.
  • Screw into sound timber on the animal's side of the fence, so the offset points into the field.
  • Lay the tape flat in the clip, unfolded, and close it.
  • Keep the offset arm level along the run so the tape does not twist between posts.
  • Walk the line after the first week and reseat anything that has been knocked out of true.
