Agrifence Paddock Pro Mains Fence Energiser – 230V, 0.2J

The Paddock Pro is Agrifence's compact mains energiser: a low-power 230V unit sized for short fences where there is a socket within cable reach. Agrifence publish 0.2 joules stored and 0.12 joules output, running 1,500 metres of clean fence line or 750 metres through medium vegetation, and back it with a three-year warranty.

Mains is the quiet advantage over a battery unit. Nothing to charge, nothing to carry out to the field in the rain, and the fence stays at working voltage all winter rather than fading week by week as a set of cells runs down. What it does not do is cope with a heavily overgrown line — Agrifence rate it as unsuitable for long vegetation.

Performance & Benefits
  • 230V mains powered, so the fence never runs flat.
  • 0.2 joules stored, 0.12 joules output — Agrifence's published figures.
  • Runs up to 1,500m of fence in low vegetation, or 750m in medium vegetation.
  • Compact housing that takes little room in a stable, tack room or barn.
  • Simple to install and to operate, with no programming.
  • Three-year warranty from Agrifence.
<>
Suitable For
  • Paddocks and small fields within cable reach of a mains socket.
  • Permanent horse and pony fencing kept live year round.
  • Yards where a battery unit keeps being forgotten and going flat.
  • Fence lines that are kept topped and clear of vegetation.
  • Not the energiser for a long or overgrown farm perimeter. Agrifence also now list a much higher-output Paddock-Pro, code H8016, at 5.0 joules output and up to 47km — worth checking which one your fence needs before ordering.
<>
How to Use
  • Mount the energiser indoors, in a dry building, well out of reach of children and animals.
  • Drive the earth stake into permanently damp ground, well away from any mains earth or water pipe, and connect the earth terminal to it.
  • Connect the fence terminal to the live line with an insulated lead-out cable, not with fence wire.
  • Plug in only once both fence and earth connections are made, then check the line with a fence tester.
  • Keep the fence line topped. At 0.12 joules, vegetation touching the line is the main cause of a weak fence.

Care & Caution
  • This is a mains appliance. It must be installed indoors, out of the reach of children, and connected through a correctly wired plug and fuse. If you are not confident of that, have an electrician do it.
  • Connect the fence and earth terminals before plugging the unit in, and unplug it at the socket before touching either.
  • Never energise barbed wire.
  • Fit electric fence warning signs wherever the fence borders a road, footpath or bridleway.
  • Only one energiser to a fence line. Two units pulsing onto the same fence can deliver a combined shock well beyond either unit's rating.
