Agrifence Super Egg Insulator
An egg insulator is the fitting that takes the strain where a line begins, turns or terminates, and the Super Egg is the heavier of the two Agrifence make. It is used with polywire and rope rather than tape, threaded so the conductor pulls the insulator into compression — the harder the line pulls, the more securely it holds.
Corner and end fittings carry several times the load of a straight-run insulator, which is why using a line insulator at a corner is the commonest way to bring a fence down. Agrifence back the Super Egg with a ten-year guarantee, which tells you what they expect of it.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Line start, corner and end insulator — the three highest-tension points on a fence.
- Designed for polywire and electric fence rope.
- Heavier duty than the Agrifence Standard Egg Insulator, for higher tension runs.
- Egg profile pulls into compression under load rather than opening up.
- Ten-year Agrifence guarantee.
Suitable For
- Corners, ends and line starts on permanent polywire and rope fencing.
- Straining a line between wooden or metal strainer posts.
- Horse and stock paddocks where the line is kept properly tensioned.
- Not for tape — 20mm and 40mm tape needs the Agrifence Tape Corner Screw Insulator or the Agrifence Tapelock Insulator, which spread the load across the tape's width.
How to Use
- Switch the energiser off before working on the line.
- Anchor the insulator back to the strainer post with wire or a strop.
- Thread the polywire or rope through the insulator so the pull closes the egg, not opens it.
- Bring the line up to tension and check the conductor is not chafing on the post itself.
- Inspect corner and end insulators once a season — they wear before straight-run fittings do.
Specification
- Agrifence product code H4821. Barcode 5052150001586.
- Line start, corner and end insulator for polywire and rope.
- Ten-year guarantee.
- Agrifence publish no material, dimensions or breaking load for this insulator, so none is stated here.
- Agrifence list H4821 as a single insulator and offer a 100-piece contractor tub under code H5449; they publish no pack of ten, so the pack quantity in the title above is the store's own.
