A slack tape fence looks poor and works worse — sagging tape touches posts and vegetation, and every contact bleeds voltage away. This screw-on insulator carries swinging buckles that let the tape be pulled up tight and held there, at the start of a line, at an end, or round a corner.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off before working on the line.
• Screw the tensioner into sound timber at the start, end or corner post.
• Thread the tape through the swinging buckle and take up the slack.
• Tension until the line is taut but not straining — over-tightened tape tears at the buckle.
• Check tension again after the first few weeks, and each spring.
