Ancol Soft Blinker – Orange

The Soft Blinker is a small flexible LED light that wraps around a collar, lead, harness strap or bag handle and stays put, making a dog easy to pick out on an unlit lane or a dark field. The body is soft rather than rigid, so it lies against the strap without digging in or rattling as the dog moves.

Three settings cover the usual needs: a constant glow for steady visibility, plus flashing modes that catch a driver's eye harder and draw far less power. Ancol quote up to 50 hours constant and up to 80 hours flashing from one battery, which is a whole winter of daily walks for most people.

Performance & Benefits
  • Flexible wrap-around body attaches to collars, leads, harnesses and bag handles.
  • Three light settings, constant and flashing.
  • Long battery life — up to 50 hours constant, up to 80 hours flashing.
  • Water-resistant construction, fine in light rain and damp conditions.
  • Soft-bodied, so it sits flat against a strap rather than swinging on a clip.
  • Battery is replaceable, so the light is not disposable once it dims.
<>
Suitable For
  • Early morning and evening walks through autumn and winter.
  • Dogs walked on roads, verges or unlit footpaths.
  • Dark-coated dogs, which disappear at dusk far sooner than pale ones.
  • Attaching to a harness, lead handle or your own coat as well as the collar.
  • Not a substitute for a lit collar band on a dog worked off-lead at distance — the Ancol Rechargeable Flashing Dog Collar Band throws light around the whole neck.

How to Use
  • Wrap the body around the collar, lead or strap and press the ends together to fasten.
  • Press the button to cycle through the three settings, and again to switch off.
  • To change the battery, remove the back section of the blinker to expose the compartment.
  • Check it is still attached and lit before you set off, and again on the way home.

  • Replaceable battery, fitted behind the removable back section.
  • Ancol product code 335400. Also made in green and pink.
  • Ancol publish no visibility distance and no battery type for this light. Figures of 500 metres visibility and run times of three to nine hours appear on some retail listings; the run times above are Ancol's own and are the ones we have followed.

Care & Caution
  • Water resistant, not waterproof. Do not submerge it or leave it in standing water.
  • Replace the battery as soon as the output visibly dims rather than waiting for it to fail mid-walk.
  • Keep spent and spare batteries well away from pets and children — a swallowed cell is a veterinary emergency.
  • A light improves visibility. It does not make a dog visible to every driver, so keep to a lead near traffic.
