A single-length lead rather than a range: 100cm of 1.9cm webbing, printed pale pink with hand-drawn black spots to match the Dalmatian collars. One metre is the traditional town length — short enough to keep a dog off a kerb without gathering slack, long enough that the dog can put its nose down on a verge.

Ancol rate the webbing for dogs up to 50kg and make the lead in the UK from 100% recycled webbing. It is weather-resistant and washes at 30°C, which is the reason a pale lead is a reasonable proposition at all after a winter of wet fields.

How to Use

• Clip to the D-ring of a well-fitted collar or to a harness ring.
• Hold the handle with the lead across the palm rather than looped round the wrist.

• Machine wash at 30°C, do not tumble dry, and air dry fully before use.

Care & Caution

• Do not tumble dry — heat distorts webbing and weakens stitching.
